Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Begins Distribution to LINE NEWS Sections of LINE Ads

- Enables advertisers to promote products and services to approximately 77 million monthly LINE NEWS users

Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Display Advertising (Programmatic-based) (hereinafter “YDA (Programmatic)”), provided by Yahoo Japan Corporation (hereinafter “Yahoo! JAPAN”), has launched an initiative to distribute advertisements on the LINE NEWS Sections of LINE Ads, a programmatic-based advertising platform provided by LINE Corporation (hereinafter “LINE”).

Through this initiative, users of YDA (Programmatic) will be able to distribute advertisements on the LINE NEWS Sections of LINE Ads*1, enabling products, services, and campaigns to be promoted on a platform which boasts more than 77 million monthly active users*2.

Z Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Yahoo! JAPAN, completed a business integration with LINE in March 2021, and has become one of Japan’s largest Internet service corporate group. The initiative will mark the first collaboration between Yahoo! JAPAN and LINE in the display advertising domain.

Distribution from LINE Ads to some ad slots in Yahoo! JAPAN is also planned in the future.

Based on its mission statement: “Making Japan more convenient, with the power of information technology,” Yahoo! JAPAN will strengthen collaboration also in advertising businesses with group companies such as LINE to develop services that support the marketing activities of advertisers, while ensuring the safety and security of our users and exercising rigorous data governance.

*1 The amount of distribution will be limited at the initial stage, but will be expanded in the future.
*2 Monthly active users of the News Tab and other news pages in the LINE messaging app, as well as users of the dedicated LINE NEWS app and the LINE NEWS web page, as of August 2021.
